Nice area of Palouse prairie and ponderosa pines.
Camping, hiking, picnicking, sightseeing, and good views of the Palouse.
Butte top 3641 ft elevation. Four large shelters, playground facility, campground ($15 per night mid-April to mid-Oct.).
3-1/2 miles of trails.
Note: park is gated dusk to dawn, which can be a problem!

Go past Pullman via Wawawai Road.
Camping, picnicking, group activities, fishing, boating, and some hiking.
Continue on Snake River Road to Wawawai Boat Landing (one mile),
Granite Point for sightseeing and rock climbing practice (four miles),
Blyden landing picnic site and boat launch (eight miles),
Nisqually John’s boat landing and picnic site (fifteen miles),
and on to Lewiston/Clarkston area (thirty miles).
(Wawawai Road starts near Hilltop Restaurant and Motel.)

10 miles E of Potlatch.
Giant White Pine Campground is located on the White Pine Drive Scenic Route and
has a small campground and trail access.
North on Highway 95 to the Potlatch "Y".
Turn right on State Route 6 through Potlatch, Princeton, and Harvard.
A couple of miles past Harvard pass the sign for Laird Park and
continue on Route 6 to the White Pine Drive.
When dry and snow free take a drive up Bald Mountain Lookout for great views
and huckleberry picking in late August.

5,300-acre park given to the state of Idaho in 1955 and dedicated to the memory
of frontier women and the hardships they endured.
The ridgeline park offers spectacular views of what remains of the Palouse prairie
(primarily agricultural lands now) bordered by forested foothills.
No developed camping.
Large motor homes and trailers would have a difficult time on the road.
Skyline Drive heads west off Highway 95 and winds over several mountain peaks for 25 miles and ends at Farmington, WA.

Quiet and grassy campsites along the shores of the Snake River await campers to Hells Gate State Park,
situated at the lowest elevation in the entire state of Idaho.
At just 713 feet above sea level, the low elevation and the long season of warm weather give rise to Lewiston’s reputation as "Idaho’s Banana Belt."
There are 93 campsites within 100 yards of the Snake River, offering shade trees and grass.
Power and water hookups are available at 64 sites.
All sites include picnic tables and barbecue grills.
There are modern restrooms with showers and a nearby dump station.

A small Forest Service campground located three miles south of Helmer, Idaho
via State Route 8 from Moscow via Troy and Deary.
Eight campsites snuggled amongst trees, with a short hiking trail connecting the sites.

Camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, fishing, huckleberry picking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
During the dry months most of the Forest Service roads are driveable by a regular vehicle and during the winter months they are a great place for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
The Palouse Divide Nordic Center provides thirty kilometers of groomed trails and warming hut facilities.
Laird Park has a large camping area and picnic site located on the upper reaches of the Palouse River.
The park also has a reservable group use site available by contacting the Forest Service in Potlatch.
North on Highway 95 to the Potlatch "Y"; turn right on State Route 6 through Potlatch, Princeton, and Harvard.
A couple of miles past Harvard watch for the sign for Laird Park.
